Skip Sams is a self-proclaimed Inspirationalist.

Skip is an award winning composer, producer and Creative Life Coach. He began his musical education at the age of five, taking lessons in both piano and tap dance. At the age of twelve, he started his formal training of classical voice.
In his early teen years, Skip began composing songs of inspiration based upon the affirmations that he was looking to hear and wanted to share with his peers.
Skip began his collegiate level of vocal training with private lessons through the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music before moving to Los Angeles to attend the Dick Grove School of Music where he broadened his scope of musical education to commercial/contemporary music and production. Sams received two diplomas from Grove, the first being in Musicianship with a vocal major and a minor in songwriting. The second diploma was for Composition and Arranging. It was in the later program that he learned the skills of writing for studio and stage orchestras in many genres, including big band jazz, broadway and pop/rock. Here he learned from the masters of the Hollywood scene, including lectures from legends such as Henry Mancini. Quincey Jones and Bill Conti.
Recognizing the unique creditability of the Grove School of Music, the University of La Verne in Los Angeles created a Bachelors program designed for Grove students. It was at ULV that Sams was given full support of the music and theater college to produce his original musical,Awake! A Subliminal Opera. Sams composed, orchestrated and directed all the music in as well as raised the capitol to produce and promote the production.
Upon graduation, Skip moved to Chicago, Illinois and started opened Skip Sams Productions where he arranged and produced albums for local and national artists. Wanting to follow the dream of scoring music for film, combined with the desire to further formal training in composition, Sams entered in the Media Writing and Production program at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in Florida, where obtained his Master of Music degree.
Sams has scored several successful films. He won the award for the best score for Lustful Dreams at the Scares and Scores film festival in 2009. The film Bonus March: As Told By Walter Waters, which Sams scored and created the sound design, won the award for best achievement in producing in the 2010 Cane’s film festival. Skip has performed in several musical theater productions, including Evita (Che Rivera), Urinetown (Senator Fipp). His jazz ensemble, Society Sound, recorded two albums and the group was featured at the Miami Music Festival. In 2012, he won an International Davey Award for Online Marketing Film or Video. The following year he was nominated for a 2013 POSI award from the emPower Music Association for Best Music Video, I Have A Voice. Skip also won a 2015 Silver W3 award for his PSA video for the Rise Up To HIV advocacy campaign.
Skip is currently living in Chicago is the president of a multi-media production company and success coach. He is currently performing with his band, the Mystics and working on his first book. He is living with the craziest cat in the world, Spats.
